About Ra-Dan Rabbits
As you know Ra-Dan Rabbits is Eric, Bonnie, Rachel and Dan Saunier.  Rachel and Dan are the ones CURRENTLY showing, and we are all now able to show and put rabbits on the table since we are showing in OPEN!  Also Bonnie will soon be able to start showing her breed, Tans.
We got started in rabbits when Rachel got a Satin for a 4-H project at our county fair.  A few years later in 1998 we started to show at ARBA sanctioned shows.  Then we were showing Californians and New Zealands under Rachel and showing Dutch, Florida Whites and Polish under Daniel.  It was in the fall of 1998 that our parents decided that we had to show as a team.  You see we came a little to close to both of us going up for Best In Show, and it would have been a very long ride home if it had happened.  See we are both a little on the competitive side and still get into it when our breeds go up against each other for Best In Show today.
Since then we have been showing and a team and culling the rabbits together.  Dan specializes in Silver Martens and MOST of our past 4 class breeds which include Dutch, Mini Rex, Polish and Florida Whites.  Rachel specializes in New Zealands and MOST of our past 6 class breeds which include Californians and Satins.  Bonnie is currently working with Tans.  Eric and Bonnie at one time were raising Silver Fox.
Thank You
We would not be where we are today if it wasn't for the help of breeders and judges.  First off we would like to thank Greg Rogers, without him our New Zealands would not be anywhere near where they are today.  He help to start my New Zealand line over and made sure we knew what we were looking for and makes sure that we don't get barn blind.  We would also like the thank him and his wife Kristi for being there for moral support.  There is also Kristi's sister Heidi Brown who is also there for moral support and for being an extra hand for getting rabbits on the table.  Next is Fred and Vicki Harra.  We had gotten Californians off of them to imporve on what we already had and then decided to get out of Cals because of few youth exhibitors.  A friend wanted us to get back in and we went to Fred for a good start.  So THANKS Fred!  Al & Barb Butler are long time Stark County R&CBA members as well as judges.  Al has helped us with Dutch culling tips, as well as finding us a few good torts when we were getting started in them.  They have helped to guide us and having also helped to make sure we knew what the heck we were looking at.  Finally we come to those couple of breeders who have helped us get a start in Silver Martens.  Ron Riddle, rabbit judge and Silver Marten Breeder, has only sold us one rabbit and it is probably the last one he will sell us.  HA HA.  When first getting started he sold us a nice typed doe who he didn't think would get to big.  Needless to say she kindled our starter stock  that has us where we are today.  However it wan't just her doing, we were given an orniry blue buck by the name of TEX!  JoAnn Sell gave Dan this rabbit for helping her show her rabbits when she wasn't feeling good at a show.  He wasn't suppose to be a nice buck and according to her might bite Dan, and he hasn't gotten bit by him to this day!  JoAnn has also given us other breeding stock, mainly does, to help us out.  We are now past that point and breeding our own rabbits, and showing our own babies.  Not to mention showing very well now that we are in open.....winning a few Best In Shows!
